Troy Johnson, full name Troy Antwain Johnson according to Pro Football Reference (PFR), was born on November 10, 1964, in Houston and played at Hastings High School in Texas. He played linebacker at Oklahoma. PFR lists him as a 6-2, 236-lb outside linebacker and defensive end. The Chicago Bears drafted him in the fifth round, 133rd overall, in 1988. PFR shows him with Chicago (1988–1989), the New York Jets (1990–1991) and Detroit (1992): 64 games, 5 starts, 2.0 sacks, 1 forced fumble (1990), 1 fumble recovery (1991) and 7 Approximate Value. He also played two postseason games, for Chicago in 1988 and the Jets in 1991. PFR shows no Pro Bowl or All-Pro honors. Note: there is no Wikipedia article on him, so this bio is short. The Oklahoman wrote on August 28, 1983: "OU has a quartet of four-star recruits in wide receiver-defensive back Troy Johnson of Alief, Texas, Hastings; linebacker Brian Bosworth of Irving, Texas, MacArthur; and linemen Darrell Reed of Houston Cypress-Fairbanks and Jeff Pickett of Texarkana, Texas."
