Isaiah Thomas

Defensive end · No club · free agent · OU 2017-2021

Tulsa-born pass rusher who led the Sooners in sacks two years running

Isaiah Thomas was born in Tulsa and played at Tulsa's Memorial High School, where he was a four-star recruit before heading to Oklahoma.

His OU career (2017–2021) started slowly, but he finished as one of the Big 12's most productive edge rushers. He led the Sooners in sacks in both 2020 (8.5) and 2021 (eight), earning second-team All-Big 12 honors each season. In 2021 he started 11 of 13 games and posted 38 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss and eight sacks. He finished his Sooner career with 81 tackles, 26.5 tackles for loss, 18.5 sacks and three fumble recoveries.

The Cleveland Browns selected Thomas in the seventh round (223rd overall) of the 2022 NFL draft. He made his NFL debut that season and recorded his first career sack against Cincinnati's Joe Burrow. He later had stints with the Bengals and Detroit Lions, spending time on practice squads and active rosters.

In May 2026, Thomas tried out for the Denver Broncos at their rookie minicamp alongside fellow ex-Sooner Mike Woods and briefly joined their roster. As of October 8, 2026, he is a free agent.
