Pro Bowls three years apart for two different AFC teams

Joe Mixon's first Pro Bowl came in his fifth season, 2021. He was second in the NFL with 1,094 rushing yards and third with 12 rushing touchdowns when the rosters were named. He was one of three first-time Bengals Pro Bowlers that year, with Ja'Marr Chase and Trey Hendrickson. He was also the first Bengals running back selected since Rudi Johnson in 2004. Cincinnati went on to reach Super Bowl LVI, so Mixon didn't play in the Pro Bowl that year.

His second selection came three seasons later and with a new team. In his first year in Houston in 2024, he ran for 993 yards and 11 touchdowns and caught 35 passes in 13 starts before the vote. The Texans pointed out that he was the only player in the league with at least 1,200 scrimmage yards in each of the previous four seasons. He also became the first player since at least 1970 to put up 100 rushing yards and a touchdown in six straight road games.

His two selections came three years apart and with two AFC franchises. He's tied with Nik Bonitto, Baker Mayfield, Marvin Mims Jr. and Kyler Murray among the 14 ex-Sooners soonersblog.com follows, and he's the only running back in the group besides Adrian Peterson.
