Back-to-back Pro Bowls, one virtual and one where he outplayed every quarterback
Kyler Murray was a Pro Bowl alternate as a rookie. In his second season, 2020, he made it outright. When the rosters were named, he had 26 touchdown passes and 11 rushing touchdowns, which made him only the second player in NFL history, after Cam Newton in 2015, with at least 25 passing touchdowns and 10 rushing touchdowns in a season. He had also set an NFL record with nine games with both a passing and a rushing touchdown. That year's game was canceled because of COVID-19, so the rosters were played out virtually in Madden.
He was picked again after the 2021 season, when he led Arizona to its first playoff appearance since 2015. This time the game was real, and it was his first time wearing NFC colors. In Las Vegas he completed 18 of 27 passes for 160 yards, three touchdowns and one interception, and the Cardinals said he put up the best numbers of all six Pro Bowl quarterbacks. His late third touchdown cut the AFC lead to six, but the NFC lost 41–35.
He has two selections, tied with Nik Bonitto, Baker Mayfield, Marvin Mims Jr. and Joe Mixon among the 14 ex-Sooners soonersblog.com follows. Both came with the Cardinals, and both were original selections, not replacements.
