From first alternate to four straight Pro Bowls with two franchises
Orlando Brown Jr.'s first Pro Bowl came through the side door. After the 2019 season he was a first alternate. Then the Raiders' Trent Brown went down with a chest injury, and Orlando took his spot on the AFC roster. He became Baltimore's 13th Pro Bowler, which tied the NFL record for one team set by the 2007 Cowboys, and he was one of 12 Ravens who played in the game in Orlando.
"Although I did make the Pro Bowl this year, I didn't play my best football," he said at the time. "I want to continue to get better and continue to make the Pro Bowl for however long I'm playing."
He did. In 2020 he was voted in directly after starting seven games at right tackle and seven at left tackle in place of the injured Ronnie Stanley. "It's a real blessing to be back in this position again," he said.
Traded to Kansas City, he made his third straight Pro Bowl in 2021 after starting all 14 games on Patrick Mahomes' blind side before the vote. His fourth came in 2022, but the Chiefs played in Super Bowl LVII that year instead.
That's four straight selections from 2019 to 2022, two each with Baltimore and Kansas City. Brown is tied with Creed Humphrey for fifth among the 14 ex-Sooners soonersblog.com follows.
