A 1942 NFL All-Star who became the only coach to lead NFL, AFL and Canadian teams

Frank "Pop" Ivy, from Skiatook, Oklahoma, played both ways for the Sooners from 1937 to 1939 and was an All-American end in 1939. He was drafted by Pittsburgh in 1940 and traded to the Chicago Cardinals that October.

His best season was 1942, when he had 27 receptions, second in the league behind Don Hutson. He was selected for the NFL All-Star Game played in December 1942. That game was part of the NFL's early all-star series from 1938 to 1942, before the modern Pro Bowl began after the 1950 season. Pro-Football-Reference counts it as a Pro Bowl, and OU's Pro Bowl page lists it too.

Ivy later became the only person to serve as a head coach in the NFL, the AFL and the Western Interprovincial Football Union. He led the Edmonton Eskimos to three straight Grey Cups.

This is an early-era selection, and sources are thin.
