Troy Aikman

Quarterback · 6 selections · retired · OU 1984-1985 (transferred to UCLA)

A Sooner first, then six straight Pro Bowls and three Super Bowl rings in Dallas

Troy Aikman started his college career at Oklahoma. In 1984 he became the first freshman to start at quarterback for the Sooners since World War II, and he was the starter in 1985 until a broken ankle against Miami. OU went on to win the 1985 national title, and Aikman transferred to UCLA, where he won the Davey O'Brien Award in 1988.

The Dallas Cowboys made him the first overall pick in the 1989 draft. Starting in 1991 he was picked for six consecutive Pro Bowls, 1991 through 1996, all with Dallas. Those seasons included three Super Bowl titles, an MVP award in Super Bowl XXVII and an NFL-best completion percentage in 1993.

OU's Pro Bowl page doesn't include Aikman, who finished his college career at UCLA. Pro-Football-Reference lists him among Oklahoma's NFL players, and SoonerStats lists him on OU's 1984 and 1985 rosters, so he is counted here. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006.
