Tyler Guyton

Offensive tackle · Dallas Cowboys · active · OU 2022-2023

Former defensive lineman and H-back turned Cowboys first-round tackle

Tyler Guyton grew up in Manor, Texas, where he played football and basketball at Manor High School. He played mainly on the defensive line, and as a three-star recruit he committed to TCU.

At TCU (2020–2021) he redshirted, then split time as a backup offensive lineman and H-back. In January 2022 he transferred to Oklahoma. In his first Sooner season he played 10 games with five starts, moving from left tackle to right tackle and allowing only two sacks. As a junior in 2023 he took over at right tackle full time, protecting the blind side of left-handed quarterback Dillon Gabriel, and allowed zero sacks across a career-high 663 snaps.

That was enough for the Dallas Cowboys, who selected Guyton in the first round (29th overall) of the 2024 NFL draft. As of October 8, 2026, he is an active offensive tackle for Dallas, where he plays alongside fellow Sooner CeeDee Lamb.

Few linemen have taken a more unusual route to the first round.
