Gold Glove second baseman with a big-league bloodline
Ailana Agbayani grew up in Mililani, Hawai'i, starred as a hitter and pitcher at 'Iolani School in Honolulu and was named Hawai'i's Gatorade Player of the Year. She started her college career at BYU, where she was the 2023 West Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year as a freshman shortstop and hit .424 as a sophomore in 2024, earning first-team All-Big 12.
She transferred to Oklahoma for 2025 and became the Sooners' everyday second baseman. Her defense was outstanding: a .989 fielding percentage with only two errors, a spot on the SEC All-Defensive Team and the 2025 Rawlings Gold Glove at second base. She also hit a grand slam in a win over Texas. As a senior in 2026 she hit .362, set a career high with seven home runs and homered in OU's Norman Regional-clinching win over Michigan.
The Chicago Bandits drafted her in the third round of the 2026 AUSL College Draft. As a rookie she started all 25 games, hit .319 and led all AUSL rookies in batting average and hits. She also played shortstop for American Samoa at the 2026 International Cup.
As of October 8, 2026, Agbayani is an infielder for the Bandits.
