Utility · Utah Talons · AUSL · active · OU 2021-2024

Walk-off hero who never lost a national title at OU

Jayda Coleman arrived in Norman as the consensus No. 1 recruit in the country. At The Colony High School in Texas she hit .702 for her career, stole 209 bases, led her team to a 5A state title as a freshman and was the 2019–20 Gatorade National Softball Player of the Year.

She started all 249 games of her OU career (2021–2024), and the Sooners won the national title all four years. As a freshman she homered in the clinching game of the 2021 WCWS finals and made first-team All-America. She was a first-team All-American again in 2022 and 2023, and in 2023 she was named Big 12 Player of the Year. Her most famous swing came in the 2024 WCWS semifinals against Florida: a walk-off home run in the eighth inning, moments after teammate Alyssa Brito prayed over her. She left OU with a school-record 283 runs scored.

Coleman played for the Oklahoma City Spark in 2024 and 2025. She went third overall to the Utah Talons in the 2026 AUSL allocation draft, hit .326 and won the 2026 AUSL championship. With Team USA she has won gold at the 2025 World Games and the 2026 International Cup.

As of October 8, 2026, Coleman is a reigning AUSL champion with the Talons.
