Louisiana ace who threw a perfect game in her one season at OU

Samantha "Sam" Landry is from Mont Belvieu, Texas. As a senior at Barbers Hill High School she went 17–1 with a 0.40 ERA and 252 strikeouts and pitched the school to its first-ever state championship, in Class 5A.

She spent three seasons at Louisiana (2022–2024), winning 20, 19 and 24 games and earning All-Sun Belt honors every year, including first team in 2024. She threw her first career no-hitter in the 2023 season opener.

Landry transferred to Oklahoma for 2025, the Sooners' first SEC season, and became their ace. On February 16 she threw a perfect game against Baylor. The Texas Volts made her the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 AUSL draft. After the 2025 season she was taken second overall by the expansion Portland Cascade. In 2026 she threw three complete games for Portland, including a shutout of Oklahoma City in the home opener, and then took third place in the AUSL All-Star Cup with a league-best 4–1 record and a 1.21 ERA.

As of October 8, 2026, Landry is a pitcher for the Cascade.
