Washington's Pro Bowl punter, starting for the NFC three times

Tress Way had to wait for his first Pro Bowl. In his sixth season as Washington's punter, he was voted the NFC's starting punter after the 2019 season. When the rosters came out, he was leading the league with a 49.4-yard average and had the longest punt of the season, a 79-yarder. He became the first Washington punter to make a Pro Bowl since Matt Turk in 1998. That year he was also a second-team All-Pro.

His second selection came after the 2022 season, again as the NFC starter. At that point he led all punters with 32 punts downed inside the 20. He joined Turk as the only Washington punters with multiple Pro Bowls.

The third came after the 2025 season. In a tough year for the Commanders, he was the team's only Pro Bowler and again the NFC's starting punter. Through Week 16 he had 50 punts, 25 of them downed inside the 20, and he was second in the NFC in net average. That put him alongside Turk (1996–98) as the only punters in franchise history with three or more Pro Bowl selections.

All three selections were with Washington, and all three were as a starter. He's tied with Mark Andrews and Jalen Hurts among the 14 ex-Sooners soonersblog.com follows, and he's the only specialist in the group besides return man Marvin Mims Jr.
