Adrian Taylor Receives Good News

Good News: Taylor suffered stertched Achilles and not torn: Oklahoma defensive end Adrian Taylor of Mansfield will undergo surgery Tuesday in Oklahoma City to repair stretched muscles around his Achilles tendon, his father said Friday. “The injury is not as serious as first thought,” Adrian Taylor said. “There is nothing torn, only stretched. But having surgery will help his recovery and (lessen) chances of the injury occurring. They’re saying he will have 100 percent recovery.” (Star-Telegram)

A. Taylor Out Remainder of Season

DT Adrian Taylor suffers season-ending injury: Adrian Taylor suffered a season-ending torn Achilles late in the first half. Sidelined by a gruesome broken left ankle in the Sun Bowl, Taylor spent the entire off-season rehabilitating the injury to play his senior year. The Achilles injury was on his right foot. “It crushes you with what he’s invested in this program with everything he’s gone through,” said defensive coordinator Brent Venables. “He’s given us a lot more than we’ve given him. His legacy will be incredibly strong here... “He has an incredible spirit and strength. I told him we need him to continue to give that to us. We need that from him. He’s not done. He won’t take anymore snaps but mentally we need him right there with us.” (The Oklahoman)
