Defensive Tackle Jordan Phillips Declares for NFL Draft

Defensive tackle Jordan Phillips announced Tuesday afternoon on Twitter that he will forgo his final two seasons of eligibility and declare for the 2015 NFL Draft.

“To sooner nation thank your for a great four years at the best university in America,” Phillips tweeted. “After a thorough but difficult decision I have decided to enter the 2015 NFL draft. Thanks for your support through everything.”

The 6-foot-6, 334-pounder from Towanda, Kan., became one of the best players on the OU football team this season as the nose guard in the Sooners’ 3-4 scheme.

He started all 13 games this season, recording 32 tackles, seven tackles-for-loss, two sacks, one fumble recovery and a pass breakup. (The Oklahoman)
