Adrian Peterson voted best recruit of all-time

Former Oklahoma running back Adrian Peterson defeated fellow running back Reggie Bush in 247 Sports' All-Time Recruit Bracket in the finals determined by the votes of fans.

Many scouts saw Peterson, a three-sport athlete at Palestine High School (Palestine, Tex.), as rare talent – Peterson reflected back saying he could have ‘came out' of Palestine and played in National Football League.

"Not to sound cocky or anything, or confident, but yeah, I do feel like I could have came out my senior year of high school and played in the NFL," Peterson said, via CBS Sports, in 2015.

Peterson, a fifth seed, in Peyton Manning region defeated Derwin James in the first round of the 64-man bracket. Bryan Bresee, top ranked 2020 recruit, would fall to Peterson in round of 32.

Peterson narrowly defeated top-ranked Jadeveon Clowney in the Sweet 16 round by merely 1,500 votes, All Fields advanced to an elite eight matchup against Justin Fields, defeating the Ohio State prospect by over 7,000 votes.

Thus, setting up a Final Four matchup between Peterson and Vince Young, the top ranked quarterback in 247Sports recruiting services rankings. All Day would defeat the Longhorn quarterback advancing to finals against ninth-seeded Reggie Bush.

After 400,000 votes casted Peterson would defeat Bush in the finals.
