Parrish Cobb Released from Jail After Posting $90K Bond; Suspended Indefinitely

A former La Vega High School football standout who committed first to Baylor and then ended up at Oklahoma is free on bond and a second suspect is in custody after a string of armed robberies earlier this month.

OU freshman cornerback Parrish Cobb, 19, was released on $90,000 bond Wednesday morning after he was charged with three counts of aggravated robbery.

Ayorinde Gibson, 20, was arrested Wednesday afternoon by U.S. Marshals on a warrant stemming from the same investigation.

Oklahoma has suspended Cobb, whose bonds total more than $90,000, according to online records.

CB Jordan Thomas Arrested Early Thursday Morning

Oklahoma starting cornerback Jordan Thomas was arrested early Thursday morning on public intoxication, interfence and assault & battery complaints, according to Cleveland County Sheriff's Office records.

This is Thomas' second arrest in eight months, he was arrested in December for failure to appear in court for traffic violations.

Thomas, who was named to All-Big 12 first team in 2015 by ESPN, is Oklahoma's only returning starting cornerback this season.

WR Dede Westbrook Arrested on Complaint of Criminal Trespass

Oklahoma wide receiver Dede Westbrook was arrested in his hometown of Cameron, Texas, on Monday on a complaint of criminal trespass.

An official at the Milam County jail said Westbrook was booked at 11:30 a.m. Monday and was released from the jail at 2:15 p.m. the same day.

OU Basketball Player Suspended After Felony Assault Charge

A University of Oklahoma men's basketball player has been charged with a felony count of aggravated assault and battery on Wednesday.

According to court documents, a formal charge has been filed against 22-year-old Akolda Manyang.

At about 3:40 a.m. on May 1, Norman police responded to the report of an assault on Campus Corner. The victim, later identified as former OU football player Tyler Evans, told police he had injuries to his face, including swelling, a lacerated lip, and two missing teeth, which he said were knocked out from a punch.

Former Oklahoma RB Brennan Clay Arrested in Alleged Assault

Former University of Oklahoma running back Brennan Clay was arrested in January after an incident with his wife, according to Dallas County court records.

Authorities said Clay was arrested on Jan. 27. According to court documents, officers who were called to the home found the victim crying and upset. She said Clay had kicked in the door earlier and began arguing with her.

Sooners Football Chaplain Arrested on Larceny, Drug Complaints

The chaplain for the University of Oklahoma football team was arrested on Wednesday after he allegedly lured a man from his house by offering a bogus vehicle test drive and then stealing prescription medications while the man was gone.

Kent Bowles, 45, of Norman, who also serves as regional representative for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a national sports ministry, was arrested on complaints of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, larceny, concealment of stolen property and obtaining cash or merchandise by bogus check or false pretenses.

Norman police were called about 6:45 p.m. Wednesday to a disturbance in the 2000 block of Morning Dew Trail and entered a house after hearing sounds of distress.

Former Sooner De'Mond Parker Indicted on Federal Drug Charges

A federal indictment of Tulsa’s “most violent and dangerous gang” alleges the Hoover Crips distributed $10 million of cocaine from Mexican cartels, murdered at least one witness, ran a dog-fighting ring and had a vast network of co-conspirators, including a former NFL player.

Federal and state authorities announced the indictment Tuesday.

Among those indicted was OU and NFL star De'Mond Parker, aka "Running Back," who is listed in the indictment as Demonn Parker. Also indicted was gang leader Donald Walters, who Williams said had 40 people working for him. Of the 51 people indicted, 23 had been arrested by Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

Parker, an OU standout who later played for the Green Bay Packers, was arrested last year on complaints of trafficking crack base and marijuana.

Joe Mixon Turns Self In; Released on Own Recognizance

Oklahoma freshman running back Joe Mixon was arraigned Monday afternoon. A judge has ordered him to be booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center by 4 p.m.

Mixon was arraigned at 1:30 p.m. The state wanted a $1,000 bond, but judge denied it and released Mixon on his own recognizance.

The judge also ordered the surveillance video of the incident not to be released. Mixon’s next court date has been set on September 23. (News9)

DA: If Joe Mixon Altercation Were Between Two Men 'Probably Aren't Any Charges'

Oklahoma freshman running back Joe Mixon has been charged with one misdemeanor count of acts resulting in gross injury in Cleveland County.

Mixon was involved in an altercation in late July with 20-year-old OU student Amelia Rae Molitor at the restaurant.

The affidavit filed in the case said at least two witnesses identified Mixon as striking Molitor in the face.

The victim told officers at the scene that the altercation began when Mixon directed a homosexual slur toward one of Molitor’s friends.

Former Sooner Larry Birdine Arrested on Domestic Abuse Complaints

Larry Birdine, a former Oklahoma defensive end, faces two domestic abuse charges stemming from a July 2 incident in Norman.

Birdine, who played at OU between 2003-06, was charged in Cleveland County District Court on Monday with domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and domestic assault and battery in the presence of a minor.

The Norman Transcript was the first to report the arrest.

Former Oklahoma WR Trey Metoyer Arrested on Another Indecent Exposure Complaint

Former Whitehouse High School football standout and University of Oklahoma player Trey Metoyer has been arrested by Tyler police on a charge of indecent exposure. He was dismissed from the Oklahoma Sooners team in October after a similar charge.

Tyler Police Department public information officer Don Martin says this is a new charge. Jail records show he was arrested at 2:42 p.m. Bond has been set at $1,500. More details will be added as they become available.

Oklahoma Lineman Arrested After Breaking Into Ex-girlfriend's House

A University of Oklahoma football player accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend's house with a crowbar and threatening to kill another man there was arrested Monday.

Jake Reed, an OU offensive lineman, was arrested and booked at Cleveland County jail Monday afternoon. Reed is charged in Cleveland County District Court with one count of first-degree burglary, one count of assault and battery and one count of domestic abuse.

Defensive Lineman Chuka Ndulue Arrested on DUI Charge

Oklahoma junior defensive lineman Chuka Ndulue was arrested early Saturday morning on a complaint of driving under the influence, according to OU Police Lt. Bruce Chan.

Campus police pulled Ndulue over around 2:46 a.m. at the intersection of E. Lindsey Street and McKinley Avenue, Chan said.

Former Oklahoma Defensive End Ronnell Lewis Seeks "Favorable Resolution" to Court Case

Former Oklahoma and current Detroit Lions defensive end Ronnell Lewis had his arraignment on three misdemeanor charges continued until July during a court appearance on Wednesday.

A bar fight in April left Lewis and the person he allegedly punched both charged with disturbing the peace, public intoxication and interference with an official process.
